KillrBuckeye - Arrival (original metal song--instrumental)
8th January

Please watch in high quality (link below opens in a new tab/window)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDhaegA7UJ0&fmt=18 Tabs are now available on my website (see link at bottom)! This is my first complete original composition in many years. I wrote most of these riffs over a year ago, but I finally pieced together a complete song over the past few months. I think vocals would fit very nicely over this song, but I decided to keep it an instrumental for now. I left it short and sweet to keep your attention. I put a solo in place of the second verse of the song. The recording process was a learning experience for me. This is the first time I used a full-fledged DAW software (REAPER), and I took some tips from RedSGShredder for creating my drum tracks (check him out—he is awesome! http://www.youtube.com/redsgshredder ). I'm not a drummer, so please don't expect anything great on the drum track. PetrucciFever gave me much-needed motivation to get started on some of my original material, so I owe a big thanks to him. He also gave me the idea to use pitch-shifted guitar for the bass line. He is another awesome player, so visit his channel if you havent done so already (http://www.youtube.com/petruccifever ). Obviously there are multiple guitars layered in this song, so I'm only playing one part at a time for this video. Maybe in the future I'll take some time to learn Adobe Premiere and put together something a bit fancier. I plan to make a complete write-up on my website about how I recorded this song. If youre interested in recording your own stuff, keep an eye out for this. Thanks again for watching my video, and please let me know what you think! Monte Montgomery: Little Wing acoustic instrumental
8th January

The amazing acoustic guitar wizard Monte Montgomery plays his own style instrumental cover version of Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing live in the Austin Music Network studio. This clip captures a bit of the excitement of what it's like to see him live, but you really just have to be there to really feel it. Trust me, just go see him live whenever possible. You can also get better quality audio of this same song by buying his self-titled CD. About that recording Monte says; "As a teenager, I really became enthralled with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Both of us living in Texas, his music was hard to miss. His posthumously released version of Little Wing hit me very hard. I started just playing around with the song, not knowing the words, it eventually evolved into this epic jam. Stevie's tribute to Hendrix has and will forever be my tribute to Stevie." Metallica - Orion (Instrumental) w/Pictures of Cliff Burton
8th January

Metallica - Orion (Instrumental). Check out my profile for all the other songs:) Sorry that I fucked up at 06:55 :P "Orion" is the seventh track from Metallica's 1986 album Master of Puppets. It is an instrumental piece composed by Cliff Burton. Some of the guitar and bass solos on this song were taken from the original demo of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" The title is in reference to the cosmic or space-like sounds heard during the transitional point of the song. "Orion" was the third instrumental Metallica recorded, the first being "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth" from Kill 'Em All and the second being "The Call of Ktulu" from Ride the Lightning. Metallica demonstrated their progression as songwriters and musicians by using multiple guitar/bass harmony parts and many stylistic changes throughout both the song and Master of Puppets as a whole. Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell played parts of "Orion" in a memorial for Cliff Burton shortly after his death. The song fades in with a heavily distorted bassline, joined by a fade-in of the drums 24 seconds in, and guitars that start at about 57 seconds. The song then jumps into one of its signature riffs with an occasional, highly distorted bass fill (namely at 1:42). A guitar solo is layered over the original riff. At the 3:59 mark, the signature bass solo is played with a chorus pedal. The song's namesake "spacey" sounds are heard during this point. After several harmonizing guitar solos, carried along by Burton's bass, at 6:35 a complex and heavily distorted bass solo is played, which is a prime example of Burton's lead bass playing style. After the solo, a fast paced guitar riff is played, and the song settles back into one of its original riffs and finally fades out. (Although the liner notes state that the second solo is played by Hetfield and the fourth by Burton, it is clear that the third solo is played by Burton, while the fourth and final solo is played by Hammett). The album version of the song was played at Cliff Burton's cremation, as it was largely his composition. This song is widely considered the greatest composition of Cliff Burton's career. It was also one of Burton's favorite songs, second to "Master of Puppets." Metallica has played parts of "Orion" live throughout their history, but now started to play the whole song. Covers and other uses * This song was covered by the band Mastodon for Kerrang!'s Master of Puppets: Remastered. * Rodrigo Y Gabriela play a version of Orion during their live shows, which also features on their second studio album, Rodrigo Y Gabriela. * In 2003, the song was featured on The DC Video (a skateboarding movie by DC Shoes) while Danny Way broke two world records on his megaramp. It is also featured at the beginning of the movie when the skaters are introduced. * This song was also played live by the progressive metal band Dream Theater during a live show in Barcelona, Spain, New York City and The Netherlands (As was the entire Master of Puppets album). * The song is also featured in the Quiksilver surf video "Circle One" - set to video of Kelly Slater. * The song is one of three Metallica songs featured in the HBO documentary Paradise Lost. * The song was sampled by DJ Shadow for the song "The Number Song" on his Endtroducing..... album. Rest In Peace Clifford Lee Burton.

Twilight Soundtrack ___________________________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/FueledByRamen ___________________________________ LYRICS: How can I decide what's right? When you're clouding up my mind I can't win your losing fight All the time Nor could I ever own what's mine When you're always taking sides But you won't take away my pride No, not this time Not this time How did we get here When I used to know you so well? How did we get here? Well, I think I know The truth is hiding in your eyes And it's hanging on your tongue Just boiling in my blood But you think that I can't see What kind of man that you are If you're a man at all Well, I will figure this one out On my own (I'm screaming, I love you so) On my own (But my thoughts you can't decode) How did we get here? When I used to know you so well? How did we get here? Well, I think I know Do you see what we've done? We're gonna make such fools of ourselves Do you see what we've done? We're gonna make such fools of ourselves How did we get here When I used to know you so well? How did we get here When I used to know you so well? I think I know I think I know There is something I see in you It might kill me, I want it to be true

DOWNLOADABLE HERE: http://www.healingarrows.echoz.com/ LYRICS: I always needed time on my own I never thought I'd need you there when I cried And the days feel like years when I'm alone And the bed where you lie is made up on your side When you walk away I count the steps that you take Do you see how much I need you right now? When you're gone The pieces of my heart are missing you When you're gone The face I came to know is missing too When you're gone All the words I need to hear to always get me through the day And make it OK I miss you I've never felt this way before Everything that I do Reminds me of you And the clothes you left they lie on the floor And they smell just like you I love the things that you do When you walk away I count the steps that you take Do you see how much I need you right now? When you're gone The pieces of my heart are missing you When you're gone The face I came to know is missing too And when you're gone The words I need to hear to always get me through the day And make it OK I miss you We were made for each other Out here forever I know we were Yeah Yeah All I ever wanted was for you to know Everything I do I give my heart and soul I can hardly breathe I need to feel you here with me Yeah When you're gone The pieces of my heart are missing you When you're gone The face I came to know is missing too When you're gone The words I need to hear will always get me through the day And make it OK I miss you
