TEMPESTS hailed from, or around, Charlotte, North Carolina. The group was first set up by two brothers Mike and Roger Bunch. In 1968, "Would You Believe!" album was released on the Smash label, a subsidiary of Mercury records. At the time of this release, the Tempests consisted of ten members. The leader singer and co-songwriter of 'Someday' was Hazel Martin Jr. (1936-2008). He had a powerful and distinctive voice, described by some with "an unforgettable, honey-soaked voice". 'Someday', and other tracks featured on the album, became highly sought after in the early 1980's on the Northern-Rare Soul scene. The track was featured regularly on DJ Guy Hennigan's top twenty at Top of the World, Stafford. Initial plays of the record in 1983 required the traditional practice of 'covering-up'. Consequently, the artist was introduced for a brief time as 'Bobby Paris!' The Tempests also figured prominently in the Carolina Beach scene.

Peter Greenaway's Fellini-esque vision of "The Tempest," by William Shakespeare, is a must-own film that bears many repeated viewings. John Gielgud reads every part, with other voices overlayed for various characters. The dreamlike, lush atmosphere of the movie frames the timeless language of Shakespeare in it's intended setting of incantation, ritual, and sensuality. There's a lot of nudity in the movie, but it's incidental - the real star is Shakespeare himself - this is Peter Greenaway's loving tribute.
